We invite you to be a part of the passionate, creative, and innovative team at IPC Heath. We are looking to recruit a Grade 1 or Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to provide assessment and intervention services within our Autism Clinic. Part of the role will also be allocated to working within the child health team.

Our service provides assessment and will soon be commencing intervention services as we continue our growth path. Join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team led by a dedicated team leader, including an occupational therapist, speech pathologists, paediatrician, clinic and wellbeing coordinator, and administrative team. The team work collaboratively to provide assessment, intervention, and holistic support to families. We are committed to providing family-centred care within a social model of health.

You will make a difference by

  • Working collaboratively with the team to deliver outstanding support to the communities we serve in the Wyndham and Hobsons Bay municipalities.
  • Completing autism assessments and participating in case conferences with team and children’s family/support team.
  • Liaising with other professionals in the child’s education, support, and/or health team.
  • Delivering client-centred and holistic interventions that will address the needs and priorities of the children and their families.
  • Ensuring that children and families feel heard, understood, and supported.
  • Reflecting, evaluating, and modifying services to enhance outcomes.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy. Current AHPRA registration.
  • Grade 1:
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in Paediatric Occupational Therapy
  • Competency in paediatric clinical skills (including conducting assessment and intervention, interpretation of various clinical presentations)
  • Ability to complete reports to complete informative reports for children, their families, and support team.
  • Grade 2:
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in Paediatric Occupational Therapy.
  • Autism assessment skills and treatment planning experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide best practice assessment, treatment, and support to children and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to optimal outcomes for children and families.
  • Understanding of educational environments and funding options (kinder and school settings) (desirable).
  • Willingness to learn and be supported by colleagues.
  • Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to actively engage children and their families in service provision.
  • Current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check and driver’s licence.
