Full-Stack Developer

Goods

This role, right here, is your chance to work in a start-up established to do good and inspire action.

Wait, how is that even remotely possible?

By the power of passion, purpose, and imagination... plus a little business management & commercial nous thrown into the mix.

We’re a diverse team of creatives, developers, data scientists and content producers who work across a variety of experiences in social impact & entertainment. We’re about to launch an impact campaign around an incredibly important issue and that’s where you come in.

We're looking for a full-stack developer to join us and be a core part of our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and testing of features across frontend and backend components. You will work with the wider team to understand how product requirements can be brought to life, contribute to the whole product delivery lifecycle and influence the way we architect and build our platform.

We’re looking for someone who loves a challenge, is a team player, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment. We’re a small team with a clear objective and we’ll need you to hit the ground running. This is a truly hands-on role – an ideal opportunity for you to make a difference.

10 Things I Like About You

We know you can’t distil a role or a candidate into simple, bite-sized bullets of information – but it’s always helpful to know the kinds of skills, qualities & experience we’re after and that you’re (hopefully) eager to develop:

  • A passion to make a positive impact through the work you do everyday;
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in web development;
  • Technical expertise in React;
  • Technical experience in backend development with Node.JS, GraphQL and MongoDB;
  • Strong skills in HTML and CSS;
  • Proven experience of delivering key features in a product;
  • Solid architectural understanding of web applications;
  • Hands on experience with testing tools, e.g. Cypress, Testcafe and Jest;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills; and
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

It would also be nice if you have:

  • Experience working with Typescript, Next.js and Tailwind;
  • DevOps experience (CI/CD, AWS);
  • Broad programming experience - you might have dabbled in mobile development or moonlight as a RaspberryPi hacker;
  • Experience working in the non-profit or for-purpose sectors;
  • A great appreciation of film and tv (it will certainly help with the workplace jokes and references); and
  • A growth mindset and love to invest into the product you are building.

What We Offer

You will be joining an incredible team who are committed, adaptable and curious. Having a burning desire to make the world a better place (both locally and globally) is what we’re all about – so we hope you share that passion too.

We’re flexible – we don’t mind how or when you work just as long as you can be available online during business hours. Life, families and pandemics happen and we appreciate how hard it is to balance everything, everyday.

Salary, Benefits and Some Perks: Yep, even if the above sounds too good to be true this isn’t one of those ‘experience is the best salary’ situations. We’re offering a package commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
