Are you passionate about shaping important justice reinvestment policies?
We are currently seeking a highly organised Senior Policy Officer (Assistant Director - SOGC) to join our justice reform team. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for formulating and implementing justice policies related to community safety.
As the Senior Policy Officer, you will work closely with an external facilitator to coordinate and guide a community co-design process focussed on justice reinvestment opportunities in the ACT. Together with community members and government stakeholders, you will analyse criminal justice programs and initiatives across the ACT with an eye to improving outcomes for vulnerable individuals who interact with the criminal justice system.
As the co-design process plays a crucial role in shaping an effective long-term justice reinvestment funding model, our ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in strategic policy and stakeholder engagement. They will also possess expertise, or ability to develop expertise, in project management and grant management and possess a solid understanding of government procurement processes and administering agreements.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference and contribute to meaningful justice reform initiatives. Our hybrid work policy allows flexibility while maintaining collaboration. If you’re ready to drive positive change, apply today!
Relevant tertiary qualifications in criminology, law, social science or a related field, or significant study towards gaining qualifications, would be highly desirable.
This is a temporary position available for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
