About the Role

Our Learning Support Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting our students reach their full academic potential. Working directly with Students, Academic staff and Academic Support Staff, you will be responsible for providing tailored services for students identified ‘at risk’ and/or with diverse learning needs. As well as providing guidance to the entire JMC team on how we can best support our students.

What’s involved?

  • Providing academic support to students, either on a one-to-one basis or group setting, in person or virtually for a range of learning concerns.
  • Working directly with students nationally to understand their learning obstacles and desired goals or outcomes and using a range of strategies develop and assist in the implementation of personalised support plans.
  • Liaise with Academic Staff and Campus Directors to develop and deliver in-class academic workshops.
  • Actively participate in our transition and intervention strategy to assist identified students.
  • Research, develop and conduct learning support workshops for students and academic staff.
  • Actively contribute to the design and delivery of onboarding, orientation and/or transitions activities.
  • Play a key role in building awareness of JMC’s academic support programs

Are you who we are looking for?

You will know this role is for you if you have:

  • Relevant Diploma or higher in Education, Disability, Health and Community with 5 years relevant work experience (Occupational Therapist, Psychology, social work applicants with a keen a passion for education encouraged to apply).
  • Previous experience working with a diverse range of individuals (including Neuro-diverse, differently abled and undiagnosed learning challenges etc.) to set up support plans
  • Demonstrable ability to work within and with multidisciplinary teams
  • A Cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • A current Working with Children Check
