The Opportunity
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Finance Officer with a passion for accuracy and efficiency. The Finance Officer will work under the direction of the Finance Manager (FM). This position provides ongoing support to the FM with the day-to-day maintenance of financial records.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Financial Management: Maintain up-to-date records, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Payroll & Transactions: Process payroll, invoices, and payments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Reporting & Compliance: Assist with monthly financial reports while ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
- Business Support: Collaborate with the Finance Manager and internal teams to meet financial requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial processes.
About You
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the effective and efficient use of information technology, software and financial management systems including Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and must have current intermediate to advanced MYOB skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance (desirable)
An understanding of Indigenous society and culture, together with the ability to work effectively and sensitively with Indigenous people.
- Proven ability to use initiative and time management skills to prioritise, organise and complete work tasks in a timely manner
- Demonstrated experience in processing financial reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
