The Role:

Reporting to the Project Director, the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the organisation’s overall project and program effectiveness. With a strong focus on program governance, the PMO Manager will make certain that adherence to reporting and documentation management is prioritised and the organisation manages its program risks, including financial, reputational and legal risk, efficiently and effectively.

Key responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate and provide strategic oversight and operational management of programs, ensuring that outcomes are delivered on time and on budget
  • Establish effective governance structures and systems for projects and ensure that all activities adhere to legislative and commonwealth government grant agreement requirements
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to capitalise on synergies and create connections across programs.
  • Generate detailed financial reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders
  • Support project managers to develop plans and business cases to define objectives, timeframes, resourcing requirements, methodologies, expected benefits and evaluation plans
  • Ensure that project risks are managed effectively and confer with stakeholders to identify and resolve any issues

The Person:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 10+ years’ experience in managing organisational-wide projects, ideally in the TAFE/VET sectors
  • An advanced understanding of program and project management frameworks, methodologies and associated contractual and legislative requirements and guidelines
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making.
  • A tertiary degree in program and project management, or a related field (preferred).
