Child, Youth and Family Worker - Youth Focus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Provide person-centred, strength-based, and trauma-informed case management to support individual young people and their families.
  • Program Design & Delivery: Manage and facilitate community activities and programs, including design, implementation, budgeting, and evaluation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, working collaboratively with people from various age groups, genders, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Education Programs: Facilitate and deliver educational programs to young people to empower them with valuable life skills.
  • Communication & Reporting: Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and grant applications, ensuring all documentation meets required standards.
  • Cultural Competency: Work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities, demonstrating respect and understanding of cultural needs.

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Legal right to work in Australia for a minimum of 28 hours per week.
  • A minimum Diploma-level qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, or Community Studies.
  • Proven ability to address all Essential Criteria and Desirable Criteria outlined in the job description.
  • A valid driver’s license and a comprehensively insured car.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, project management, and facilitation of community-based programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing, presentations, and grant writing.

Additional Skills & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Experience with NSW Targeted Early Intervention Programs or similar initiatives.
  • Additional certifications such as Mental Health First Aid or Child Protection.
  • Proven experience with vulnerable young people or those facing significant challenges.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, and managing funded programs.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
