Katherine Copsey - Greens Upper House MP for Southern Metropolitan Region - is seeking a Communications Lead to join her small, highly collaborative team.
In this role you will deliver digital engagement and social media strategies to communicate Katherine's parliamentary and portfolio work (justice, animal welfare, major events, climate friendly transport and gambling harm reduction), build community and drive online engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and oversee our long term online strategy.
- Deliver digital communications and campaigns, including: brand and digital presence; copywriting and content creation for social media, email and web; develop digital marketing strategies to build audiences and increase engagement; and utilise digital analytics to inform strategy and optimise content.
- Plan, write and deliver print communications materials such as flyers, stickers, surveys, mail-outs and other electorate-related materials. This includes copy and design.
- Other activities such as assist with speaking notes, research or local constituent queries.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Qualifications and/or experience with delivering successful communications campaigns across print, web, email, social media and digital advertising.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics, and knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing and communications.
- Experience in issues-based campaigning in a progressive environment and experience with different campaigning tools and methods.
- A strong understanding of the Victorian political context, and a demonstrated commitment to Greens values. If you’ve worked on campaigns in a political or NGO/issues-based environment, this will be an advantage.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Katherine Copsey is recruiting a Communications Lead under the terms and conditions of an Electorate Officer at 4 days (30.4 hrs) per week or full-time by negotiation, for her office in Brighton. The position is an ongoing role. Family-friendly hours are available, including capacity to work from home, and occasional out-of-hours work will be required.
This role is a Grade 2 under the Parliament of Victoria enterprise agreement.
