Kensington Neighbourhood House (KNH) offers a range of recreational, social, educational and vocational classes. Our programs cater to the whole community but we maintain an emphasis on removing barriers to participation for people experiencing disadvantage, families and older adults. Kensington Neighbourhood House operates on community development principles. We work to establish a just society and build a harmonious community which respects diverse backgrounds.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Flemington Homework Clubs will be integrated within a highly successful partnership project that is already in its third year of operation. The Debney Meadows Community Hub focuses exclusively on building thriving relationships between families, the school, and the broader community.

This is a part-time fixed term position,18 hour per week role. The Program Lead will be responsible for the planning, operation and evaluation of the Flemington Homework Clubs. They will recruit, screen, induct and supervise volunteers, oversee the delivery of the program and conduct monitoring and evaluation processes.

The goal is to support children with their schooling while connecting them and their families to broader opportunities for education, recreation, volunteering and wellbeing.

ABOUT YOU

This is a great role for anyone who is passionate about education and community development. We are seeking someone who would like to make this program their own, and become the 'go-to' person for students, parents and volunteers. You must have a qualification in education, or be working towards one. This role is being funded by Victorian African Communities Action Plan (VACAP) grant, people from African-Australian backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
