A little about the role

Reporting to the Team Manager, the Social Worker will make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality care in a family setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support via phone and supervisory visits, including occasional unannounced visits, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Support children and families in maintaining contact and assist with smooth introductions to foster carers.
  • Perform direct work and assessments of children, young people, and foster carers based on identified needs.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are completed, meeting all requirements and complying with child protection procedures.

The base salary for this position is $85,120.36- $91,586.56/annum (based on 1.0 EFT) + super + vehicle & fuel card + generous NFP packaging available (up to $15,900/annum). This is a full-time, ongoing position.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:

  • Recognised Social Work Qualification (or similar).
  • Eligibility for registration with AASW.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children, supporting their individuality and fostering their development.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and publications related to children’s services, as well as current best practices and child safeguarding standards in the state.
  • Sound understanding of child protection procedures and the Code of Conduct for Foster Carers.
