Your new role

The GM Finance is a key business partner who will enable Kids First to meet it strategic objectives by ensuring that there is sound financial planning and analysis in place. They will achieve this by:

  • Influencing key decisions as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and providing quality advice to the Director - Corporate Services and Chief Executive Officer (as required) including advice pertaining to the legal, regulatory, governance, accounting, and tax obligations for Kids First.
  • Driving the preparation of the long-term financial plans and annual budgeting process, including monitoring performance against adopted budgets and plans.
  • Developing and implementing a curriculum to improve the financial literacy of all budget holders in the organisation.
  • Overseeing cash flow forecasting for the organisation, ensuring forecasts are reliable to enable decision making by the Finance and Investment Committee.
  • Researching accounting standards to provide positions on complex financial transactions.
  • Reviewing and improving all month end processes ensuring they are effective and efficient; building in additional controls where required.
  • Working closely with the Digital and Data team to implement initiatives from the Digital Transformation Strategy, including review of current finance systems with the goal of enhancing or replacing the system to future proof the organisation.

About you

  • A passionate business partner with strong collaboration skills, including the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Successful at building high-performance teams and leading change to improve the organisation.
  • Superior knowledge, skills and experience in financial management, governance, risk and compliance in complex operational, legislative and regulatory environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of senior management experience
