About the position

The Finance and Payroll Officer will work proficiently in a fast-paced environment with a primary focus to ensure Kinaway accounts payable, receivable and payroll processes are managed effectively. They will work in close collaboration with other Kinaway staff and ensure all processes are documented.

Duties

  • Process General Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable duties
  • Processing of personal expense reimbursements, as well as ensure source data is reflected accurately within other databases for reporting purposes.
  • Process Company Cards to ensure accurate reconciliations and reporting of the same.
  • The Finance Officer will also need to ensure all collections are followed up in a timely manner.
  • Process all invoices and receipts against grants for reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Preparation of batch and BPay payments in Xero ready for payment.
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate month end activities
  • Ensure integrity in the master data maintenance of suppliers and clients in Xero.
  • Controlling and managing the bank reconciliation process within and outside of the Finance system.
  • Liaise with IT & Corporate Services department, General Manager Operations to ensure all capital movements are captured and processed correctly within the finance system on a monthly basis and fixed asset register is maintained.
  • Managing shared accounts and associated inboxes to ensure invoices and queries are actioned on a daily basis.

Key Selection Criteria (applicants must address Key Selection Criteria in their application)

  • Proficient experience with financial applications, in particular Xero.
  • At least 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Preferred experience working with grants but not essential
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and relationship management with internal and external stakeholder
  • Ability to adapt and develop relevant processes for accounting purposes
  • Ability to work in fast paced working environment
