Your role will include (among other things)

  • Overseeing the smooth day to day Clubhouse operations with responsibility for oversight of program units, member engagement, new member orientation, outreach, volunteer coordination, and ensuring adherence to Clubhouse International standards.
  • Leading the daily operations of Kindred Clubhouse in line with the Clubhouse International Model including implementation in new satellite site/s.
  • Participating in induction and intake of new Members for Kindred Clubhouse and the CPS (Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program) through Kindred’s partnership with Mentis Assist.
  • Participating in communication and outreach process for Members to foster belonging.
  • Co-designing and facilitate group sessions aimed at addressing psychosocial needs of the community.
  • Maintaining a safe and welcoming space for people with mental health concerns including those from diverse communities including LGBTIQA+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and Cultural and linguistically diverse people.
  • Actively promoting the Clubhouse model and CPS program through networks and ambassadorship.
  • Creating and/or monitoring community partnerships to develop community experiences for Members.
  • Contribute to or lead grant searches and applications.
  • Ability to drive members in a 12 seater bus. (only a Vic drivers license required)

Education

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Social/Community work, Operations or Business (desired).
  • National Police Check.
  • Victorian driver (car) license or ability to obtain.
  • First Aid and CPR certificates or ability to obtain.

Experience

Valued experience includes:

  • Previous role in a Clubhouse
  • Lived/living experience of mental health issues.
  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions.
  • Ability to navigate crisis situations or challenging behaviours.
  • Working with people with mental illness in a non-clinical setting.
  • Not-for-profit and community service program management.
  • Organisational advocacy.
  • Group session delivery.

Personal values & attributes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt these to a variety of settings and audiences.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of staff members while fostering collaboration.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with data management, record keeping, and reporting.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and within established routines and procedures
