Lead Autism Therapist - Occupational Therapist / Speech Pathologist / Psychologist

Kite Therapy

We are a values driven company on a mission to make exceptional autism therapy more affordable and accessible for thousands of families who are stuck on waitlists.

We're not your typical therapy business! We are searching for a lead clinical therapist to join the team and accelerate our mission. We are looking for an out-of-the-box thinker who is passionate about making a difference in the disability sector, and be a part of building something extraordinary!

What makes this role different

  • Part clinician, part innovator: Get the best of both worlds! Spend part of your time working hands on with families via telehealth, with the rest of your time spent developing innovative therapy approaches and collaborating with the product and design teams
  • Mostly remote location and role flexibility: We are committed to schedules and locations that work for your life. We’re open to part time therapists, and open to mostly remote candidates who perhaps want to maintain existing private practice clients.

  • Early stage tech company: Join the founding team to be at the forefront of building a transformative therapy service that transforms lives and scales therapy
  • Competitive pay rate: You will be well compensated for your experience and expertise. Perhaps you would like to join the Kite team, while maintaining a small book of existing private practice clients.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) practitioner to join our founding team as a Lead Therapist. We founded Kite with a mission to reduce the cost of early intervention, reduce waitlists, and improve the lives of children with disabilities. We’re doing this by combining ESDM, parent-led intervention, and modern technology.

As our lead therapist, you’ll be a part owner of a fast-growing technology company, with the potential for significant financial upside. You’ll join a dream team that have worked at some of the top technology companies in the US, have years of experience in the disability field, are passionate about working with children, and are ESDM trained.

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead the development and refinement of our Parent Coaching curriculum, based on principles from the Parent Coaching Early Start Denver Model (P-ESDM), and drawing on other neuro-affirming therapy practices
  • Through telehealth, provide Parent Coaching including: performing skill assessments, developing personalised therapy plans, and partnering with parents to implement therapy plans
  • Support creation of take-home instructional videos for parents
  • Support hiring and coaching of additional P-ESDM therapists
  • Track longitudinal outcomes data for children and parents

Experiences and qualifications required:

  • At least 5+ years experience working with children with autism
  • In-depth knowledge of parent-implemented intervention (PII) methodologies (including P-ESDM)
  • ESDM certified
  • APRHA registered in Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Psychology
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to develop video based content
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Tech savvy and confident in using digital tools for clinical practice

People with lived experience of disability are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please let us know if there are any adjustments we can make during the recruitment process.
