We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to work in our education practice, to manage a major project within a large education system. Working closely with Knowledge Society’s Education Practice Lead and SMEs, the Project Manager will contribute the tools, techniques and experience to bring planning rigour to the development of a major initiative to improve educational performance in an Australian school system.
The role is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a flexible environment with a close knit team. Knowledge Society will support the right candidate in learning deeper domain knowledge, however the candidate must come with existing Project Management disciplines. We are looking for an excellent communicator who is highly organised and has an interest in social impact, particularly in education.
Perth based; national work.
Creating and managing project plans
Creating project budgets, cost estimates and resource allocations
Coordinating the timely and successful delivery of project activities and outcomes
Coordinating the production of assets (including a large suite of high quality online learning modules)
Negotiating with partners to reach a shared goal
Business development activities such as the creation of proposals and estimates, and converting our intellectual property into repeatable market offerings
Supporting the delivery of workshops and client engagement activities
Supporting senior colleagues in the Education Practice in the generation of strategic and creative responses to client challenges.
Essential
3+ years project management experience in a complex environment or on complex projects
Sound judgement in understanding and estimating realistic delivery costs and timeframes
Strong writing skills including the ability to write for different audiences
Ability to communicate well with senior staff and diverse stakeholders
Natural aptitude for client engagement – this means you can preempt client needs, can negotiate, persuade and remain attentive to the upcoming needs of the project
Confident verbal communication and facilitation skills
Naturally curious – this means that you read broadly, ask intelligent questions and are constantly learning.

University qualifications in project management
Reporting: This Project Manager role reports to the CEO.
Location: This role is based in our Subiaco office. Travel within WA and interstate may be required (if and when possible).
Duration: Full-time (approx 37.5 hrs per week), or can consider flexible four day a week option. Fixed-term contract for one year with the potential for extension.
