Georges River Council have a wonderful opportunity for a Grants and Project Officer to join our Community and Early Learning Services team.

The Role

The Grants and Project Officer is responsible for fostering community capacity and engagement within the Georges River community. This role focuses on developing and executing strategic initiatives that align with the social and corporate objectives of the Council.

This role will effectively manage and govern Council's grant programs and deliver community projects based on identified needs. This position serves as a crucial liaison and stakeholder manager, ensuring that community projects and grant initiatives are aligned with the overarching goals of Council, promoting community connection, capacity and resilience.

What we can offer you

  • Permanent, Full time - 70 hours per fortnight
  • Salary from $94,478.15 -$109,466.82 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation (dependant on the skills, qualifications and relevant experience of the suitable candidate)

The successful candidate will have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences or other relevant degree (e.g., Social Work, Community Development, Project Management or related) or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of community capacity building principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grant program implementation, including the development of relevant documentation such as policies, guidelines, and application, assessment and acquittal forms
  • Demonstrated strong experience in project management, including the ability to effectively plan, implement and evaluate outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in effective community and stakeholder consultation, management and engagement
  • Excellent research skills and interpersonal skills, and high level written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budget allocations for approvals
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and with other community organisations
  • Ability to set priorities, with sound organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite as well as content management systems and relevant technology

Desirable

  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C)
  • Current Experience working in Local Government
  • Experience using SmartyGrants or similar Grant management system
  • Knowledge of the characteristics of Georges River local government area
