ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role will support the team to coordinate the rollout of the Flexible Open Distance Education (FODE) program in rural and remote PNG. FODE is essentially a second chance high school education for those who have not had the opportunity to complete their schooling and wish to progress onto education and health pathways. Implementing the FODE program requires significant administration and coordination efforts from KTF Australia and KTF PNG.

The role is heavily geared towards logistics coordination and administration and would be perfect for a passionate individual wanting to enter the international development sector. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the tasks listed below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key tasks include:

  • coordination of data collection, entry and analysis;
  • coordination of project resources such as printing, ordering supplies, food and technology;
  • coordination of logistics for deliveries of resources and supplies;
  • coordination of international and domestic freight and shipping logistics;
  • booking and coordinating travel and transport within PNG;
  • coordinating food and boarding activities for staff and students at FODE colleges;
  • coordinating security and other logistics;
  • assisting with regular communications with project partners and in-field staff;
  • assisting with staff movements, logistics and rosters;
  • assisting with the implementation and logistics of the academic calendar;
  • contributing to the implementation of stronger and more streamlined administrative processes;
  • assisting with human resource activities across projects;
  • assisting with project monitoring and evaluation activities including quarterly reporting;
  • supporting the Head of Education, program managers and college staff;
  • coordination of KTF’s project management processes;
  • liaising with in-country logistics and project coordinators to ensure the seamless delivery of activities in PNG;
  • Supporting across other KTF projects as and when required.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • excellent organisational skills;
  • excellent communication skills – verbal and written;
  • strong capability with the use of Google Suite & Microsoft office, including intermediate document and spreadsheet skills;
  • general level of technology skills (gmail, slack, Monday etc)
  • the ability to coordinate several tasks at a time, all with competing priorities;
  • the ability to work in a fast paced, productive working environment;
  • a degree (or 2 years experience) in a relevant field (international development, project management, logistics, administration or similar);
  • a can-do attitude with fantastic problem-solving skills.
  • the ability to work with minimal instruction (particularly for remote candidates)
