The Role:

We are seeking an innovative and commercially minded Finance Planning & Analysis Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving well-informed organisational decision-making through financial insights and commercially savvy proposals, aligned with KU’s strategic priorities.

This is an engaging full-time permanent opportunity to join our team, reporting directly to the CFO. You will be based in our sunlit support office in the Sydney CBD, right next to Town Hall and the QVB in the heart of the city. This role will see you join the team, Monday to Friday, with the benefit of accruing a Monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO). Hybrid working arrangements are part of our culture and to be discussed post successful completion of the probation period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee long-term financial strategies aligned with KU’s goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare accurate financial forecasts.
  • Manage financial relationships with Executives, Business Operations and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with government grant agreements and funding guidelines.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to Executive Team and senior stakeholders.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor a Finance Business Analyst, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Manage financial planning for capital projects, including infrastructure development or upgrades.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in the Australian early childhood education sector.
  • Collaborate with the broader Finance team and Business Operations on dashboards, reports, and decision-making tools.
  • Contribute to Finance & ECE related processes, providing improvement suggestions and documentation.

About You:

  • Collaborative working style with strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, highly organised, and able to work independently.
  • Initiative-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation with passion for services and excellence.
  • Ability to interpret data and make fact-based recommendations.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Accounting/Commerce/Finance University Degree.
  • CA/CPA Qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Advanced communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate with non-finance colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and ability to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel skills; Hands on TM1 experience highly advantageous.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work autonomously and within a team.
