The Law Society Northern Territory (the Society) is the peak professional body representing the interests of legal practitioners in the Northern Territory. The Society is seeking to appoint a Director of Regulation to carry out the work necessary for the Society to fulfil the exercise of its regulatory functions under the Legal Profession Act.

This is a unique opportunity to make an important and meaningful contribution to the legal profession and the general community.

Responsibilities include:

• Solicitor on the record in litigated proceedings
• In house legal counsel for the Society
• Advise and brief the Society’s Council and Committees
• Management responsibility for the Society’s regulatory functions and team

Requirements:

• Admission to a Supreme Court of Australia
• 7 years post admission legal experience
• Excellent track record in diverse practice areas
• Exceptional communication skills
