Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to join us as our Project Officer, Homelands Housing and Infrastructure Services. We are a large Aboriginal organisation based at Yirrkala near Nhulunbuy in the NT. We offer an interesting and friendly workplace. Your future colleagues are all experienced and friendly people. The successful applicant will have experience and qualifications relevant to project management functions. We offer an attractive package and benefits. Housing and relocation costs will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Small to medium construction Project Management experience. Experience in remote settings is desired but not essential.
  2. Experience in developing technical specifications, drawings and scope of work for small to medium construction and asset upgrades for remote infrastructure and houses.
  3. Experience meeting reporting requirements to meet government and other funding body grant guidelines

We are looking for someone positive, effective and organised while contributing to a safe and friendly work environment that aligns with our values.

The successful candidate must also be prepared to travel to remote communities via various means, including 4WD vehicles and light aircraft.

Desirable

  • Skills and experience working with Revit or Autocad and Adobe Suite.
  • Previous experience working or living within an Indigenous setting and ability to demonstrate a high level of cross-cultural awareness in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of issues facing Aboriginal people in contemporary society and or previous experience working in remote Aboriginal communities.
  • Passion and interest in the homelands movement.
