About us

Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas of criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give information, legal advice, help at court and assist people with their legal matters. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our many office locations throughout NSW.

About the role

The Legal and Client Support Officer, Clerk Grade 3/4 role is a valuable addition to our existing administration division at Legal Aid NSW.

The role is an important first point of contact for our clients with complex legal and non-legal issues to determine and provide appropriate information and organises support or services.

The role provides a range of clerical and legal administrative support to our legal teams to deliver best outcomes for our clients.

This recruitment will create a talent pool which may be used for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies (full-time or part-time) we have over the next 18 months.

About you

You are a committed, client focussed team member. You are a team player who delivers consistent quality services in a high-volume environment. Your high level communication skills support you in dealing with our clients and legal staff interactions. These interactions include reception, phone and legal administrative functions.

The essential requirements for this role

You must:

  • be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before you start work with us
  • be willing to have a Criminal Record Check undertaken by Legal Aid (unless you are an existing Legal Aid employee)
  • hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
