About the role:

Multicultural Futures are currently seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer to guide the organisation through its next phase. Reporting to the Board of Management, the role will hold the following key focus areas:

Leadership and Culture

  • Provide leadership and direction by articulating and communicating the vision, strategy and values of the organisation
  • Develop and maintain a positive workplace culture
  • Recruit suitably qualified, experienced and culturally aligned staff, and undertake appropriate succession planning
  • Ensure that the workplace is safe and client oriented

Board and Governance

  • Safeguard the financial solvency of the business and act as the principal advisor to the Board
  • Review and implement the Strategic Plan
  • Maintain an up to date working knowledge of key issues and trends impacting business programs

Program Management and Business Development

  • Ensure that the work conducted by Multicultural Futures aligns with the objectives of the association, and the organisation’s vision and values
  • Ensure that all programs are run effectively and in line with program and funding requirements
  • Develop new programs considered relevant to the Strategic Plan, and work with Program Managers to develop new programs, extend and improve existing programs
  • Seek new funding and business development opportunities and pipelines
  • Partnerships – develop alliances, partnerships and joint ventures with other service providers
  • Contribute to public policy development by contributing to government and sector plans, reviews, consultation and research

Financial Management and Administration

  • Ensure that the financial management systems, policies and procedures are in place and followed
  • Facilitate the preparation of the annual budgets, operational plans, monthly financial statements and operational

Marketing and Brand

  • Lead the development of the Multicultural Futures brand
  • Positively represent the business on relevant committees and forums.
  • Develop and maintain links with relevant national and international bodies

What you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, psychology, social work or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with leading and delivering non-government community services
  • Demonstrated exceptional skills and experience in:
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Financial and business management
    • Business development
    • Policy development
    • Strategic planning
    • Communication and interpersonal engagement
  • Experience with and a commitment to working with culturally diverse people from CALD backgrounds, and person-centred service delivery
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, be resourceful, work effectively under pressure and be innovative and flexible.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with a Board
  • Western Australian driver’s license
  • Current National Police Certificate

The incumbent of this role must have well-developed skills in seeking and acquiring growth and funding opportunities, and strong tender writing skills.
