Job summary

You are responsible for:

• Undertaking consulting projects in life cycle assessment for chemical production processes and manufacturing systems
• Handling large databases, data processing and analysis
• Modelling processes to generate datasets describing environmental impacts of chemicals and products
• Verifying environmental data and claims
• Collaborating with various stakeholders on multidisciplinary projects
• Managing client relationships

Requirements

• Experience addressing environmental performance of chemicals and industrial production systems
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to determine actionable projects that achieve results
• A thorough understanding of chemistry and chemical production processes
• Experience working on life cycle assessment of industrial processes
• Demonstrated ability to employ analytical, communication and teamwork skills
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise work
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• A general understanding of / passion for environmental issues

Reporting relationship

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Lifecycles.

Qualifications and experience

• A degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
• A minimum of three years’ working experience in the field of LCA
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience using SimaPro desktop and Report Maker
• Certified environmental claim auditing qualification (ISO14065)
• Specialities in maths or engineering would all be looked upon favourably.
