Job Summary:
The Graduate Research Scientist (LCA/Agrifood) is responsible for:
- Undertaking LCA projects from beginning to end
- Handling large databases, data processing and analysis
- Creating complex models in Excel and other related software
- Modelling agricultural and food processes to generate datasets describing environmental impacts of agrifood products
- Collaborating with various stakeholders on multidisciplinary projects
- Managing client relationships

Requirements:
- Experience working on technical projects
- Demonstrated ability to employ analytical, communication and teamwork skills
- Excellence in using Excel and other data management software
- Good time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- A general understanding of / passion for agricultural production and/or environmental issues
Desirable:
- You enjoy working on cutting-edge projects addressing key environmental sustainability challenges
- You have an X factor in your skills base or experience which can bring something unique to the team
- You will be willing to learn and teach in a collaborative environment
- You have some knowledge of LCA and/or some experience using LCA specialist tools (SimaPro, OpenLCA, or other)
- You are prepared to challenge your notions of what is or isn’t sustainable
Reporting relationship:
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Lifecycles.
Qualifications and experience
- A degree in science or engineering. A postgraduate qualification would be highly regarded.
- Specialties in chemistry, maths, agriculture or engineering would all be looked upon favourably.
