DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER FOR all areas of Melbourne (including Endeavour Hills / Melton / Frankston)

Work in a nice home with a friendly team. Long shifts with great hours. We are seeking an experienced, personable and confident support workers to care for our clients throughout the Greater Melbourne Region - we have clients everywhere - and more wanting to come into the Lifeful family.

Join our teams, where valued, proactive colleagues will welcome you, train with you and provide all the shadow-shift training you request or require. We’re looking for team members with excellent work ethics, a passion for others and who know or are willing to learn the requirements of these roles. (At least 2-3 shifts per week - with the view to offer permanent / full-time). Some clients require regular sleep-over shifts, others just extra support during the day. So, if you can fully commit, and want consistent, bankable, long shifts (and work in a fun team) – this is the job for you! :-)

Nursing and/or medical training will be highly regarded, so is previous experience - commitment and passion is essential. An above average hourly rate is negotiable and commensurate with relevant experience. Immediate start after interviews and possible ‘meet n greets’ with our clients and their families. Our recruitment process takes less than a week. Due to a massive growth - we are interviewing now - not in several weeks time.

DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

  • A focused person-centred approach
  • Personal care (such as hand feeding, bathing/showering, dressing, toileting etc)
  • With some clients, full hoist transfers (hoist lifting, shower commode, repositioning etc)
  • Encouraging and supporting personal skills through hobbies, interests and games
  • Undertaking social support duties both in the client’s home and in the community (wheelchair taxi transport)
  • Domestic duties such as food preparation and laundry. (A weekly house-cleaner does most cleaning)

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Show a genuine desire to providing quality support for people with disability
  • Competent skills in all aspects of manual handling, including hoist/sling transfers.
  • Some experience with clients who are non-verbal, experience regular pain +/or are on modified diets
  • Medication management training, or willingness to get it
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
