Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury (H2H) is one of over 40 Lifeline centres nationally, providing Australians with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. Our strength lies in our community footprint, as we deliver vital programs and outreach initiatives to build local and lasting capacity for suicide prevention through connection, compassion and hope.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Community Services Manager (4 days per week – flexible days/hours) is responsible for:
- The overall management of Lifeline H2H Community Services, including Financial Counselling, Emergency Relief, Community Aid, Community Visitors Scheme and Support Line.
- Advancing Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury’s community and partner awareness of Lifeline H2H community services
- Connecting with sector trends to ensure Lifeline H2H remains equipped to articulate and respond to evolving community needs
The key objectives of the role include:
- To provide leadership, support and motivation for the Community Services team
- To manage, oversee and maintain a high level of service provision in the Centre’s Community services and programs
- To seek out and develop opportunities to expand Community Services and respond to changing community needs
- To work collaboratively with the Services Co-ordinators Administrators/ to ensure that all the centre’s Community services are operating professionally and smoothly in accordance with the Centre’s policies and procedures and funding body guidelines
- To actively publicise, market and promote the Centre’s Community services within the community
- To research and determine (in consultation with the CEO and management) the direction of any of the Centre’s Community Services and/or programs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience leading a diverse team of staff and volunteers
- Experience in ensuring service quality and KPI management in a regulated sector
- Demonstrated skills in engaging across a diverse range of stakeholders, including government, business and community groups
- Highly developed relationship-building and strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to use initiative and work independently to achieve role objectives with demonstrated attention to detail and a strong focus on quality output
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Aged Care, Psychology, Counselling, Social Services or related field
