WSMRC is seeking a dedicated, skilled and experienced Caseworker who can provide specialised support to clients from CALD backgrounds with complex needs, particularly women at-risk and/or victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
In this role you will:
- Deliver casework services to CALD clients experiencing domestic and family violence (DFV) as part of an integrated and person-centred approach that prioritises the needs of survivors and their children
- Provide casework and information/referral support to WSMRC clients as needed and as directed by the Leadership Team
- Develop and deliver early intervention programs to increase community understanding of DFV and gender equality.
- Establish and maintain effective referral pathways to specialised DFV, emergency housing and legal services.
- Attend external interagency meetings, forums, committees, conferences, consultations, and community events.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification and/ or equivalent experience in social work, community development or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in domestic and family violence (DFV) service delivery
- Strong ability to engage with women and families with complex needs and experience working with vulnerable clients individually and in group settings
- Extensive experience in supporting woman and children through casework, including risk assessments, safety planning, mandatory reporting and referral pathways
- Experience planning and delivering workshops on primary prevention and training to improve women’s knowledge and skills, as well as their social and economic engagement
- An understanding of both the settlement and DFV sectors, including knowledge of CALD specific support services and referral pathways within South West Sydney
- High standard of interpersonal skills including effective communication and written presentation and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft 365 and client database systems
- Current Working with Children’s Check and Police Clearance
