In this permanent full-time position as a Grants Capacity Building Officer at Logan City Council, you will assist local organisations to identify, write, and successfully obtain both government and private grants to bring more events, projects, community infrastructure and services to the City of Logan.
Position responsibilities will include:
- Provide personalised support to help organisations to clarify their objectives, navigate grant options and prepare competitive grant applications.
- Inspire and empower community by delivering information and capacity building workshops.
- Develop strong community relationships and foster connections between like-minded organisations to jointly apply for grants.
- Identify and implement practical measures to increase accessibility to and support for Council grants.
- Measure and report on capacity building benefits and outcomes to Council and the community.
Qualification, knowledge, skills, and experience
- You will have knowledge and experience writing grants, business acumen, presentation skills and experience working with and engaging local community.
- You will be a passionate and engaging advocate for community, with demonstrated strength in your ability to write compelling and successful grant applications.
- You can communicate, engage and tailor your messaging to the needs of your audience. You can ‘read’ your audience and determine when you need to be persuasive, use tact, be diplomatic or engage with sensitivity.
- You possess a qualification and/or equivalent experience in project management, community or local government discipline.
- You possess a highly developed analytical skills with the ability to proactively plan, prioritise and organise your work to autonomously meet deadlines, manage competing demands and deliver multiple projects and tasks.
- You possess a C Class Drivers Licence and are willing to work after hours or on call as the role may require from time to time.
