Support workers who will empower people to be active members within their own communities. You will be supporting people to achieve their goals while participating in a variety of active and opportunities. We are seeking support workers who are able to care for both young individuals and adults living with a disability or age care with carrying support needs to enhance physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.

A successful candidate needs to be passionate about helping others maintain their quality of life.

You must be compassionate, empathetic and a detail orientated individual who possess strong listening and communication skills to be successful.

As a support worker you will be working in people's homes, in the community or in health and social care settings and may help with tasks such as mobility, eating and drinking or personal care.

Skill Set:

We will be employing people over the age of 18 who are:

  • Willing to use initiative and lead with a sense of fun and enthusiasm.
  • Willing to assist people with their personal care needs.
  • Available for flexible work in various locations and hours, especially at our peak times including out of school hours, weekend and school holidays. (Minimum 2-hour shifts)
  • Capable of working independently without direct supervision.
  • Willing to travel to various different locations

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Prospective candidates will need to undergo a series of safety screening checks before being appointed to any position at MAAC Care. Safety screening includes:

  • A Working with Children Check
  • National Police history check. Anyone who has lived and worked overseas for 12 months or more in the past 10 years must provide a police or criminal record check from the country of residence.

In addition to the safety screening, the successful applicant will be required to provide proof of currency for:

  • First aid certification
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Covid vaccination
  • Covid safe training
  • NDIS Screening Check
  • A current Driver’s License and regular access to a suitable vehicle – insured and road worthy
  • All requirements must be completed before employment can commence.

Preferred but not required:

  • Certification in disability and/or individual support
