It's a rewarding time to be working in NSW Health Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) services. With new policy and enhancements to our response to all forms of violence, the critical work within our agency and with our partners is increasingly important to provide a seamless and trauma-informed response to vulnerable children, adults and families.
We are seeking a skilled operational leader to support the work of our clinical teams in Sexual Assault and New Street and the future implementation of the Safe Wayz Program. They will be experienced at operationalising policy directives and leading multidiscipline responses in a health setting. They will have advanced personal attributes, that engage and support a highly dedicated staff team, who have embraced the current reforms of the statewide VAN redesign as well as enhancements following the Royal Commission into Institutional Abuse.
This is a new multidisciplinary position and would suit a Social Worker, Senior Psychologist, Nurse Manager or Occupational Therapist and is part of the leadership team of the Violence Abuse and Neglect Service.

The Programs Manager – Sexual Harm and Safety Services is responsible for overseeing the operational and clinical management of teams within the Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) portfolio. These services are organised into the following program streams:
All VAN Programs Manager’s will directly contribute to the clinical governance of the after-hours service at both Wyong and Gosford hospitals to Violence Abuse and Neglect presentations in the Emergency Department.
The Programs Manager has advanced personal attributes, relationship, and result capabilities in managing multiple services with staff from a range of disciplines. Their advanced skills in people management, engaging and motivating staff, and developing capability and potential in others inspires direction and purpose.
They work closely with colleagues and managers within VAN and more broadly across the health service to facilitate integrated and trauma informed care and streamlined pathways of care.
They actively support their teams to be innovative, culturally safe and evidence based to develop and deliver effective and sound interventions that operationalise the NSW Health Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Framework, relevant Service Standards andPolicy and Procedures with specific focus on child protection, domestic violence, mental health and drug and alcohol.
