The Opportunity

As our Biodiversity & Resilience Officer, you will be responsible for the review of key environmental conservation principles in development proposals, aid in preparation and implementation of strategic biodiversity and urban greening policy/programs and promote environmental awareness.

In this role you will undertake environmental review of development and urban growth proposals in the field of biodiversity, climate change and natural hazard resilience in collaboration with relevant areas of Council.

A key component of your role will be to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, landholders and the community regarding biodiversity, water quality, climate change adaption and community resilience with respect to natural hazards.

You

To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree in Environmental Science, Natural Science Management (or related discipline) and have contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in environmental management with a focus on biodiversity management.

You will have demonstrated problem solving, analytical and research skills with a proven ability to analyse and prepare meaningful reports and presentations. It would be advantageous if you have experience in community consultations and/or community education.

Benefits

This permanent full-time position has a salary range is $95,075 up to $105,533 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 10.5% p.a. super.
