The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Tibetan Bilingual Story Teller to delivery Bilingual Story Time sessions during term times (20 sessions per year, opportunity for multi-year delivery), alongside an English Story Teller, as part of the Multicultural Story Time Grant from the Department of Health. The Tibetan and English Story Tellers will plan and deliver sessions together, and further input will be provided to include health, literacy and nutrition messaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Tibetan Bilingual Story Time sessions in partnership with Maribyrnong City Council Librarian
• Strengthening parents confidence and capacity to support child's health, nutrition, language and literacy development as part of the Tibetan Bilingual Story Time sessions

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

• Demonstrated experience and skills in working with diverse communities, families and children
• Demonstrated experience as a Story Teller and competent reader
• Fluency in Tibetan and English
• Have flexibility to be able to deliver Tibetan Bilingual Story Time on Saturdays (20 sessions per year)
• Current Working with Children Check.
• No relevant criminal record found in a Police Check
