The Opportunity

In your role as Youth Engagement and Outreach Lead, you will responsible for overseeing and leading the development, implementation and evaluation of programs, activities and events for young people. Additionally, this position holds the portfolio of events management and activities across the municipality that encourage and increase young people's social recreation, leisure and engagement participation, with an emphasis on providing constructive use of their time in places and spaces they choose.

Key Responsibilities

The Youth Engagement and Outreach Lead will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Creating, implementing and evaluating events and programs that are outcomes focussed and relate to young people's increased voice, advocacy and creating change in the municipality for young people.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to the Youth Development workers.
  • Lead the capacity development and partnerships work with other stakeholders, such as libraries, service centres, parents, teachers and other community members;

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in youth work, Human Services, Education or Community Services.
  • Strong knowledge of Youth Affairs with the ability to design and implement consultations; research and advocacy strategies.
  • Strong skills in the application of systems to ensure high quality service delivery including financial, OH&S and risk.
  • Proven leadership experience and well developed skills to manage, plan, facilitate and deliver innovative responses for young people.
