About the role

The Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action (EAGA) is looking for an experienced project officer to support the delivery of a number of regional climate change mitigation and adaptation programs across Melbourne’s East. Responsible for supporting collaborative cross-council initiatives and contributing to advocacy processes, the position will facilitate information sharing and communications across the network.

About you

You will leverage your project management experience and passion for taking real action on climate change to support EAGA’s Executive Officer to deliver the Alliance’s annual work program. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills with demonstrated experience in working with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also have well developed desktop research and report writing abilities and experience in the delivery of online communications.

EAGA is a formal Alliance of eight councils in Melbourne’s East, committed to facilitating the region’s transition to zero net emissions by 2030. Key deliverables include innovative climate change mitigation and adaptation projects, influencing policy and programs through advocacy and building the capacity of its members and stakeholders. The EAGA Project Officer will undertake its role under the guidance of the Executive Officer, EAGA Executive Committee and Steering Committee. The full-time position will be employed by Maroondah City Council while working on behalf of all participating councils within the EAGA region. Whilst the position is based at Maroondah (Ringwood), the role will require a majority of time to be spent off-site and/or at other council offices and/or working remotely.
