Mary’s House Services – domestic and family violence services – Lower North Shore
Mary’s House Services is looking for a Senior DFV Caseworker with six years or more experience and a specialisation in domestic and family violence casework to join its casework team, working with women and their children impacted by domestic and family violence. Ideally, you will have specialist child support skills.
This is a permanent part-time position. You will be working with a team of caseworkers and reporting to the Refuge and Casework Manager. Your clients will be women and their children living in the community, who have left an abusive relationship or are in the process of leaving.
Mary’s House Services is a wonderful example of what a community can achieve when it identifies a gap in services and a desperate need for community support. We are a grass roots organisation, providing quality services for women and children who have experienced domestic or family violence. We offer safety, hope, and empowerment for women and children to rebuild their lives.
Established in 2016 as an independent not-for-profit, we innovate to provide support services in response to community needs. Through Mary’s House refuge, and casework services for women living in the community, we offer professional support, accommodation, case management services and therapeutic groups to women, while they navigate options before, during and after leaving an abusive relationship.
Please call 02 8937 2094 and ask to speak to our Refuge and Casework Manager, Margot if you would like to know more. Enquiries will be answered promptly and be kept confidential. We wish to fill this role as soon as possible.
If you prefer to simply apply now, please download the position description for more information.
We will interview suitable candidates progressively. However, we know your time is valuable, so before applying, please email [email protected] using the subject line: Senior DFV Caseworker - Child Support Specialisation enquiry via EthicalJobs to check if the role is still open.
A position description is attached.
The position is paid at SCHCADS Level 4.1 in the first year of employment.
As a provider of services to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence, this position is only open to applicants who identify as women. Mary’s House Services considers identifying as a woman to be a genuine occupational qualification for this position under s.31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are strongly encouraged to apply. People who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community are strongly encouraged to apply. If you have a disability, you are also strongly encouraged to apply.
The preferred applicant must undergo a Working with Children and National Police Records Check as a requirement of ongoing employment with Mary’s House Services.
