About the Murwillumbah Community Centre

The Murwillumbah Community Centre is an Incorporated, community based not for profit organisation established in 1974 situated in the heart of Murwillumbah in the Northern Rivers of NSW.    

MCC provides a cross section of direct services to the community with special attention to supporting vulnerable people within a culturally diverse and lower socio – economic community.  MCC also manages community development projects which assist in building community capacity.

MCC currently employs 21 staff and is supported by teams of volunteers who work across a range of programs in our 4 facilities all located in Knox Park, Murwillumbah. 

  • Murwillumbah Community Centre HUB: one stop shop where people can access a range of support services, programs and activities.
  • Murwillumbah Youth Centre: offers support to young people, after school and holiday program activities, works in partnership with local schools & organisations to provide targeted initiatives.
  • Nullum House: Social inclusion Centre where homeless people and those at risk can seek support, meals, showers, washing facilities, activities and meet new people to reduce isolation.
  • Murwillumbah Food HUB: Low cost supermarket.

About the Role

We are looking for a Manager who is passionate about working with our diverse community and shares the Murwillumbah Community Centre’s values and vision as documented in the Strategic Plan. 

Position Summary –

The Manager will be responsible for the effective provision of integrated services and capacity building in the Tweed by -

  • Providing a viable organisation with a strong structure, governance and processes
  • Providing leadership, strategic coordination and quality assurance
  • Providing quality client focused services that are responsive to community needs
  • Increase support to those with special needs
  • Strengthen and broaden partnerships to improve delivery and co-ordination of services and meet community needs
  • Identify areas of demand for training and increase opportunities for staff and volunteers
  • Providing additional opportunities for economic development and social participation for the community
  • Provide accommodation for the development of essential outreach services in the Tweed and Lismore that are not presently represented in Murwillumbah
