More about the role:

The Cancer Nurse Educator will play a key role in designing and delivering education and professional development programs and events using technology-rich teaching and learning approaches. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to design, build and deliver e-learning modules to meet the learning needs of McGrath Cancer Care Nurses
  • Keep up to date with advances in cancer care and actively share this knowledge with McGrath nurses and team members
  • Maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to guide and inform the nurse education and professional development program
  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of the McGrath Nurse Education and Professional Development Program
  • Role model a commitment to continuing professional development and high levels of engagement across the Nurse Portal
  • Adhere to project budgets

This role will be a part-time position, working remotely 3 days per week (0.6 FTE). Travel for education and team events will be required.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an interpersonal and organised individual with a mix of the following experience and skills:

  • Registered Nurse, currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Hold post-graduate qualifications in education and ideally cancer care
  • Advanced organisational and time management skills
  • At least five years’ recent experience as a cancer nurse educator in a clinical and/or tertiary setting with a broad knowledge across all cancer types
  • Ability to design, develop and confidently deliver evidence-based education and professional development content via different modalities eg. live online, asynchronous online, in-person etc.
