The Opportunity
As Project Officer you’ll provide operational and research support to Prof Sharon Goldfeld, the research group and the right@home project. This position will provide a key role in supporting the group and requires an individual with high level coordination to assist Prof Goldfeld in her leadership roles on campus. The person we are looking for must have superior administrative, organisational and computer skills, and will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. This role is a parental leave backfill, approximate duration until the end of June 2021.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide project support to the Group leader, Policy & Equity and research group and RCH Director, Centre for Community Child Health
- Maintain currency and accuracy of project and funding submission data for the group
- Drives project management for specific smaller projects under supervision
- Facilitate and lead internal and external meetings/workshops with stakeholders with support and direction to achieve project outcomes
- Provide high level coordination and assistance to further the work of Professor Sharon Goldfeld supporting campus wide leadership roles and liaising with the Theme Director, Personal Assistant as required.
- Liaises and manages stakeholder expectations in relation to project delivery (time/resource/cost implications/risk) with support
- Contributes to preparation, collection and methodology as required by the project and research group
- Contributes to the team/group and manages competing priorities/deadlines to deliver projects in a timely manner
- Develops the structure and content for reports independently from draft to final stage under supervision
- Present at internal and external forums as required
- Assists and contributes to tender and grant applications
- Is engaged in the campus culture including professional development activities and attending internal/external campus conferences and seminars
- Is aware of, and adheres to, MCRI policy on Intellectual Property/Material Transfer Agreements/Contracts/Clinical and Public Health Outcomes
Selection Criteria:
- Degree/Honours qualification in relevant field (e.g. child health, education, public policy)
- An appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
- Demonstrated experience in project management including the planning, monitoring and evaluation
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience communicating to a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrates independent judgement and initiative
On Offer:
- Part time contract 0.8FTE (30.4 hrs per week)
- Salary Range $70 - $75,000 pa (pro rata) + super + salary packaging
