The Melbourne Children’s Global Health Training Fellowship will implement and evaluate a 12-month project focused on capacity development or learning health systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The Fellowship is offered through the Melbourne Children’s Global Health (MCGH) initiative, supported by the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. MCGH recognises that capacity development and strengthening learning within health systems in LMICs is critical to reduce inequity and improve child and adolescent health. Thus understanding of capacity development and learning health systems are core competencies underpinning a career in Global Child and Adolescent Health.
The Melbourne Children’s Global Health Training Fellowship will also support the activities of MCGH’s Learning Health Systems Working Group. The group aims to better understand the challenges faced by clinicians, researchers and policy makers within LMICs in Asia and the Pacific in conducting and translating public health and medical research. Based on this understanding, the group works in collaboration with our regional partners to build stronger networks to improve child and adolescent health. This will enable the Melbourne Children’s Global Health Training Fellow to learn from the broad expertise of the group and contribute to improve capacity development at the Melbourne Children’s.
Applications over two years part-time may be considered.
