THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a talented postdoctoral Research Officer to join our Bioengineering Team in the Heart Research Group. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge wearable blood pressure and vital signs monitor. You will play a key role in designing and conducting clinical studies, managing data, and developing algorithms for vital sign measurements, including blood pressure, pulse rate, and more.

In addition, you'll have the chance to mentor junior staff and students while contributing to publications and funding applications. If you're passionate about advancing healthcare technology and eager to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you!

Your responsibilities include:

  • Acquires and manages data from the prototype device according to data management plans
  • Develops algorithms using robust methodology, considering relevant standards (ISO, IEC etc) and regulatory requirements
  • Undertakes high calibre competitive research
  • Has successfully written and continues to submit grant and ethics approval applications
  • Identifies ways to improve data collection/quality utilised by the team/group or research
  • Contributes to the supervision of students, research assistants and to the skill development of peers

What we need from you:

  • Relevant engineering PhD/Doctoral qualification and relevant postdoctoral experience
  • A demonstrated deep understanding and track record in wearable technology theory and development, including sensor technology, safety considerations and algorithm development
  • Excellent time management, organisational and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated relevant computer skills and an understanding of a range of research methodologies and their application in empirical research
  • Experience in knowledge sharing, development, mentoring and support of employees and students
