The opportunity:

A/Prof. Daniel Pellicci heads the Cellular Immunology Group within the Infection and Immunity Theme at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. His research involves tracking the immune response before, during and after infection with disease. The purpose of this position is to find a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to perform experiments and see projects through to completion in a timely manner. This position would suit those that already have research experience within the field of cellular immunology, particularly those with cell culture and flow cytometry experience. This person would also be involved in supervising junior staff/students and be required to present their research in lab meetings and within scientific meetings.

The role will see you with primary responsibility of

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments conducted.
  • Comply with lab documentation requirements, and assist in general lab maintenance
  • Contribute to training and supervision of new staff and students
  • Undertake Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) responsibilities and take responsibility for routine reviews of laboratory practices

About You:

  • PhD qualification
  • Appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent time management, organisational and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets, database programs, statistics and word processing
