Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health (MCWH) is a national, community-based organisation which is led by and for women from migrant and refugee backgrounds. MCWH works together with migrant and refugee women, community organisations, health practitioners, employers, communities, and governments to build and share knowledge, achieve equity, and improve health and wellbeing for migrant and refugee women.
The purpose of the National Health Educator Support Officer is to support the implementation of MCWH’s ‘Health in my Language: COVID-19 Vaccination Bilingual Health Education’ project, being funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health

This is a fixed-term, full-time role, scheduled to end 15 December 2022. The applicant must be ready to commence work no later than 02 May 2022.
Key responsibilities
- Attend professional development and training at the commencement of appointment;
- Provide day-to-day supervision of the Project’s Victorian-based team of health educators;
- Conduct administration related to health educators’ activities (e.g. weekly meetings, bookings, schedules, record keeping, and collection of evaluation data);
- Provide support to the project partners and their health education workforce to deliver health education sessions across Australia;
- Work closely with the Partnership Liaison Officer to ensure the effecting running of the Health in My Language Project; and
- Conduct other duties consistent with the role and as negotiated with the National Program Manager.
Selection criteria
Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications;
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a project management role;
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and effective team management;
- Excellent project/program planning and implementation skills;
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills;
- Experience engaging migrant and refugee communities; and
- Commitment to, and understanding of, migrant and refugee women’s issues from an intersectional feminist perspective.
Highly desirable
- Knowledge and/or experience in women’s health and/or health education; and/or
- Fluency in a language other than English.
Special requirements
- Some evening or weekend work may be required from time-to-time;
- The candidate must be able to work from home and a hybrid working from home/office arrangement may be possible/necessary;
- A satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children check may be required; and
- Up to date COVID-19 vaccination (unless a medical exemption applies).
