About the organisation

Muscular Dystrophy Australia (MDA) is a national peak body for more than 40,000 Australians living with neuromuscular disease (NMD). With lived experience at the core of everything we do, MDA develops and delivers evidence-informed programs for the community; provides services and support for people living with NMD and funds innovative research. With lived experience at the core of everything we do, MDA enables people living with NMD to live a connected, productive and meaningful life.

Behavioural duties and requirements of the role

• Contribute to and assist in the development of the organisation's long-term strategies and transformation for growth and scale.
• Research, clinicians and allied health - contribute to research, strategic direction, policy and impact
• Ensure the highest level of integrity is always maintained.
• Comply with all MDA Board policies and procedures including confidentiality, workplace health and safety and accessibility requirements.
• Considerate of the needs of all MDA stakeholders across the business: Board members, CEO, people with lived experience of NMD, suppliers, staff, etc.
• Embrace change and understand the risk appetite of an innovative and future-forward organisation to achieve mission.
• AICD/GAICD or equivalent trained and/or extensive experience.
