About Us

The Macular Disease Foundation of Australia (MDFA) is a national peak body with the purpose of reducing the impact of macular disease in Australia. There are an estimated 1.9m Australians with some evidence of macular disease.

About the Role

MDFA has been undergoing an exciting technology transformation to deliver efficiency and enable growth to better meet our mission. A key project was the introduction of Salesforce in 2024, which has enhanced capabilities across every area of our organisation.

This is a new role in our organisation with responsibility for the effective management and support of Salesforce, ensuring good industry data practices are maintained for ongoing integrity.

Please note this is NOT an infrastructure or developer role.

On a day-to-day basis, this looks like:

System administration including user account management, configuration of new workflows and rules (as well as maintaining or improving existing ones) and develop and execute plans to resolve emerging issues.

System support including trouble shooting, training new people in system fundamentals, and identifying unused or underutilised features that add value, liaising with system and application vendors when required.

Business analysis including create and generate reports and dashboards supporting the organisations activity and strategy.

Data administration including managing data cleansing, transforming or transferring data, and supporting others in best practice data maintenance.

The Salesforce Administrator will be able to escalate complex issues to our Salesforce Implementing Parter and is responsible for monitoring them for successful resolution.

Who we are looking for

You will have at least a couple of years’ experience using Salesforce and be a Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator or above. You will enjoy independent work – you will be our internal Salesforce guru – but also like the chance to teach others how they can achieve their objectives using the system. As a small organisation, it’s important you’re comfortable communicating at every level in the organisation and can translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand information and action.

Selection Criteria

  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator or above.
  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology, business administration, or information management or the equivalent of at least three years’ work experience in an IT or information management related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and understanding business needs across all levels in an organisation and using analytical and problem-solving skills to develop and implement technical solutions for business processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and documentation, business process modelling and functional/non-functional analysis.
  • Capable of working independently with an ability to escalate issues when necessary and manage a solution with the appropriate vendor.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Office Apps, Teams, SharePoint) and leveraging them to achieve greater efficiency.
  • Desirable
  • Experience in the for-purpose or health sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a technology project to success.
  • Experience managing vendors and delivering technology improvement projects.
  • Understanding of, or experience in, digital transformation.
