Trainer and Assessor – VETDSS Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance and Community Services

Melbourne City Institute of Education (MCIE) is a leading registered vocational education provider offering outcome-focused, quality-driven courses to students undertaking VET Delivery in Secondary Schools.
We are seeking passionate, motivated and qualified Trainer & Assessors to join our Ballarat team to deliver the Community Services and Allied Health Assistance courses in 2024 and 2025:
- Certificate III in Community Services
- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
Successful applicants will:
- hold the relevant qualifications or be able to demonstrate current competency to at least the level of skill and knowledge delivered or higher
- be able to demonstrate relevant and current industry experience
- hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
- have experience in delivering VETDSS training
- hold a current First Aid certificate desirable
- hold a current Working with Children Check
- hold a current National Police Check
- be able to demonstrate their experience of class-based and virtual training methods
- have relevant VET knowledge and knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015
- have the ability to work with and train students from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds
Key Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to:
- work with secondary school students
- use technology and computer skills within a learning environment
- deliver quality current industry relevant training, conduct assessments in class and within a workplace, and to provide effective feedback
- monitor and manage student progress
- submit accurate reporting of student contacts, progress and results
- engage students within classroom and virtual learning environments
- engage with, and maintain industry links
- follow, implement, and comply with policies and procedures
Will have:
- extensive experience and knowledge of the school education sector
- teaching experience and skills within the school education sector
- the passion for learning to provide feedback on resources and tools to ensure quality learning and assessment outcomes
- the ability to work cooperatively with others
The successful applicants may be employed initially 1 to 2 days per week.
