PARKVILLE YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING SERVICE (PYMHWS)

Established in July 2024, PYMHWS is a newly created public health service, the first of its kind in Australia, dedicated to the provision of mental health and wellbeing services to young people aged 12 to 25 with complex mental illness in the north and west of metropolitan Melbourne.

Your New Role:

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is currently recruiting for the position of Contract and Facilities Manager on behalf of the Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS). This role will officially transition to PYMHWS on 1 July 2025.

Are you ready to make a significant impact in healthcare? Join The Royal Melbourne Hospital/Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service as an experienced Contracts and Facilities Manager and become an integral part of our dynamic team! As a small health service, many corporate and clinical support functions will be procured via service level agreements with Royal Melbourne Hospital, Orygen and other service providers. This role will be central to working with internal and external stakeholders to develop solutions and add value to PYMHW to ensure we get the services we require to deliver best outcome to our young people.

  • Negotiate and draft contracts that are fair, legal, and meet the needs of all parties involved
  • Support end-to-end procurement processes from specification development through to contract execution
  • Ensure that contracts comply with all legal requirements, and you will work closely with Legal and Finance teams to develop and implement procurement strategies
  • Monitor contract performance and work with stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise
  • Maintain contract documentation and communicating contract information to all parties involved

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and / or extensive experience in Contracts and Facilities management
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Good analytical skills, attention to detail & organisational skills
  • Understanding of the mental health sector and, in particular, youth mental health (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a public health service (desirable)
