The Director of Allied Health and Learning and Development is a new role which will provide leadership and direction for allied health across RMH Mental Health Services. The role is also responsible for the RMH MHS Learning and Development program, ensuring a whole of service approach to learning and development, aligned with our practice reform to establish a holistic approach to service delivery at RMH MHS, and the outcomes of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health Service System.
The position provides direct support to the senior allied health leadership group, and to senior learning and development educators.
Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services provides person-centred, recovery-oriented care, treatment and support through our multi-disciplinary workforce of skilled and dynamic clinicians and Lived and Living experience (LLE) consumer and carer experts. We are dedicated to providing caring and high-quality specialist community and hospital-based mental health services for adults and older adults who are experiencing, or are at risk of developing a serious mental illness.
We have a robust future ahead as the lead mental health service for the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, and also as the lead adult mental health service for Transforming Trauma Victoria (Statewide Trauma Service). These programs will drive mental health reform across the sector, and will offer a wide range of opportunities for involvement of staff within the RMH MHS. Our partnerships with multiple community and academic organisations support our program and enable a sophisticated learning structure, with a focus on research translation.
In partnership with the RMH MHS Directors, and with the support of the allied health and learning and development leaders, the role is critical to implementation of reforms following from the Royal Commission into the Mental Health Services System in Victoria. The role is primarily accountable for performance and quality of allied health professionals and programs within the service, and the delivery of a high-quality learning and development program incorporating all discipline perspectives.
The role contributes as a member of the RMH Mental Health Services executive and participates in a range of service review, planning, development, and monitoring activities.
Benefit of working with the Royal Melbourne Hospital/Inner West Area Mental Health Service/RMH:
The RMH is proud to be a workplace that champions diversity, inclusion and equality for our staff and our community. Our goal is for our people to feel safe, included and supported so that they can be at their best every single day.
