Senior Clinician - Homeless Youth Dual Diagnosis Initiative

  • Part time ongoing role - 60.80 hours per fortnight.

Orygen specialist program works with young people aged 12 – 25 years who are experiencing mental ill-health, and with their families. The HYDDI program is one of a number of programs delivered through our Community Development program, where partnership with other sectors enables us to better meet the needs of those who experience social marginalisation.

Supported by the Youth Addictions and Dual Diagnosis stream of care, HYDDI senior clinicians deliver evidence-based dual diagnosis care, tailored to the young person’s context.

Your new role:

  • You will work in close partnership with youth refuges to identify young people experiencing mental ill-health and/or alcohol and other drug problems, and to develop an interagency response.
  • You will provide mental health professional learning, secondary consultation and reflective practice to youth refuge staff.
  • You will engage young people in mental health service navigation, assessment, and brief intervention.
  • You will be supported.

About you:

  • You will be a mental health social worker, nurse, occupational therapist or clinical psychologist with experience working with young people, preferably in the specialist mental health system.
  • You will have a minimum of five years of practice experience engaging young people and their networks in psychoeducation, assessment and therapeutic interventions related to mental ill-health and substance use disorders.
  • You will have experience working in partnership across sectors.
