WHY WE NEED THIS ROLE

We are privileged to be able to partner with some extraordinary businesses across many industries under our advocacy framework.

We expect our project work to really ramp up early in 2023 and we are now looking for some additional experienced Senior Service Designers to join our Sydney based team.

Based on the range of projects coming up, experience in one or more of the following areas is required:

  • Built environment, infrastructure, transport, architecture
  • Nature positive, environmental and sustainability projects
  • State and federal government ways of working

Our new Senior Service Designers will start in January - February 2023 so we’re looking for several people with availability from then.

These positions will initially be maximum term contracts for the duration of 12 months. We are not hiring for permanent positions at the moment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Senior Designers have learned the design process, are refining their skills and building further experience by delivering impactful work on projects.

Working closely with Lead Designers and Principal Designers our Senior Designers will demonstrate a growth mindset and help contribute to a positive team environment.

In your role at Meld, you can expect a day might look like:

  • Working with many online tools such as the Google suite, Miro, Slack and Zoom (we also use Apple Macs so please let us know if you need some help transitioning to this from PC)
  • Coordinating day-to-day client interaction and team momentum
  • Planning and conducting qualitative research (discovery and testing)
  • Analysing and synthesising findings into key insights
  • Preparing and co-presenting client presentations
  • Design and co-facilitate of workshops (online and in person) to generate and evolve ideas into concepts that can be communicated & tested
  • Visual design (skills are a bonus but not essential)
  • Taking part in a weekly check in or check out Zoom catch up’s
  • Attending one of our many social events, we work hard but also enjoy having fun!

EXPERIENCE & CAPABILITY

You will be asked to point to around 3-5 strong examples (case studies) where:

  • You have worked independently and/or led teammates, with guidance from a Lead or Principal Designer.
  • Had positive feedback about the quality of your work.
  • Had positive feedback about the impact of your mindset and behaviour.
  • Can discuss how the client confirmed that your work was impactful.
  • You have helped to evolve a practice in a positive way.

ABOUT YOU

This role would be great for someone who:

  • Can self-direct, multi-task, collaborate when needed, work alone when needed and meet deadlines
  • Is a great listener, communicator and problem solver
  • Has a growth mindset and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Brings energy and positivity to team culture
  • Can build rapport, and repair it when damaged.

HOURS

We support flexible working at Meld, but we do ask for everyone to be available during our core hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday in order to provide the best support to our clients.

LOCATION

We support hybrid ways of working however you must also be in a position to come together with your team and clients in either in our Sydney studio or client sites each week, so living in or around Sydney would make this easier.
