An outstanding opportunity exists to lead, and to build on previous achievements of this vibrant community organisation. MENH is currently seeking a dynamic and experience manager to lead a team of staff, volunteers and contractors.

This is an ongoing part-time position 26 hours per week, nominally worked over 4 days, but subject to negotiation. Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHCADS) Award 2010 and the Fairwork Act.

The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management and financial supervision of Mount Eliza Neighbourhood House Inc. and to also oversee the development and delivery of programs and activities that meet the social, educational and recreational needs of the local community.

The position will develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally with the Governance Committee, staff, tutors, community groups and volunteers and within the broader community. This will include representing Mount Eliza Neighbourhood House within the service sector, working cooperatively with Local, State & Federal Government departments and active participation in relevant networks.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community development, social sciences or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management and providing strategic leadership with a minimum of 3 yrs. experience working in a management or leadership role 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide sound financial management within an organisation
  • Highly developed written and oral communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in developing effective networks and partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and resolve complex issues with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability in sourcing and writing funding applications and delivering funded programs and projects
  • Knowledge and ability to use word processing systems and software packages, e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Driver’s License 
  • Working with Children Check

Desirable:

  • Experience in Managing a Neighbourhood House or other similar community organisation
  • First Aid

Employment will be subject to a clear Police Check and Working with Children Check
